ΔΛΞΠΣΥΦΨΩΆΈΉΊΌΎΏΪαβγδεζηθικλμνξοπρςσ, New England House

New England House is a council-owned, multi-storey factory in the middle of Brighton.

We’re setting up a not-for-profit property development company to reorganise the building, from the bottom up, from the inside out.

We’re going to turn the building into ΔΛΞΠΣΥΦΨΩΆΈΉΊΌΎΏΪαβγδεζηθικλμνξοπρςσ, New England House.

ΔΛΞΠΣΥΦΨΩΆΈΉΊΌΎΏΪαβγδεζηθικλμνξοπρςσ, New England House will be an open, affordable and public factory for the benefit of the whole city.

ΔΛΞΠΣΥΦΨΩΆΈΉΊΌΎΏΪαβγδεζηθικλμνξοπρςσ, New England House will create a new economics for the building, and increase the surplus the building generates for the council.

ΔΛΞΠΣΥΦΨΩΆΈΉΊΌΎΏΪαβγδεζηθικλμνξοπρςσ, New England House will work with existing tenants to maintain the building as a cheap, rough and ready place to make things, by hand or on screen.

ΔΛΞΠΣΥΦΨΩΆΈΉΊΌΎΏΪαβγδεζηθικλμνξοπρςσ, New England House will be a place where Brighton can produce, instead of just consume.

We’re spending 2018 prototyping this new organisation, from our space inside the building. We’re starting with a series of 4 Talks on Production, to explore the reality of making things in our city today. For more information, click here.
